March 5 from 9am-noon will be AWTHS regular Open First Saturday hours. Located at 123 W. George Street in Arcanum, the historic saloon and hotel later known as Beck’s Hotel and lastly the Wayne Trail Grange, became home to Arcanum Wayne Trail Historical Society.
The house is open to tour with displays from Arcanum and the local area businesses, clubs, schools and families.
The research library contains photos, family histories, reference materials, school yearbooks, old Arcanum Times newspapers, and binders full of interesting articles and data. Appointments for research are recommended.
March 10 at 7pm Greg Brown from Abbottsville Monuments will be our speaker with a program about the historical changes of tombstones in styles, materials and personal interest and the changes over the years. From angels to sports figures to solar lighting. Abbottsville Monuments has been a family business since 1973.
